A LETTER TO NORTH AT NIGHT OF RAIN

You asked when will be my return, 

which is indefinite. But the pools 

are getting over flooded by the autumn 

rains at night on mountains.

We will, when together again, 

light up the candles and talk 

some more about the time when it 

rains at night on mountains.

Li Shangyin, c. 813–858, was a Chinese poet and politician of the late Tang Dynasty.
